Please tell everyone you know- The IRS will NEVER call you!
BE AWARE! There is a very aggressive call scam trying to steal your personal information!
You will first receive a call “from the IRS”. They will tell you that you owe back taxes and must pay immediately. They may even threaten your home or belongings. This is NOT the IRS! No IRS agents will ever call or email you, EVER.
Here’s the even scarier part- After you hang up, you may get a call showing “911” on your caller ID. If you answer, they will act as a 911 emergency operator and will tell you to pay the IRS!
These awful crooks make it seem as though they have 911 on their side! Do not fall for it. Its 100% scam.
Simple tips for dealing with Scammers
Do NOT reveal any personal information including social security numbers, birth dates, bank account numbers, relative names, etc (But you already knew that)
Do NOT tell them where you bank (even if they try to trick you by acting like they know you have an account with BofA. Just say NO)
Do NOT reveal any credit cards you have
Do NOT even humor them. Just plain hang up!
